RESEARCH INTERESTS

I completed my PhD. at the University of Nottingham, supervised by Prof. Stephen Jackson. During my PhD. I used multiple cognitive neuroscience techniques, such as structural MRI, MR spectroscopy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, to investigate adaptive alterations in brain function and structure in young people with Tourette Syndrome. In particular, I was interested in control of motor tics through inhibitory mechanisms in motor planning regions, such as the supplementary motor area (SMA). In general, have a keen interest in the motor system, movement disorders, and how development and training affects brain structure. I joined Prof. Masud Husain's lab as a Research Associate in 2015, where I continue to have an interest in the function of the SMA in the context of motivation of action during development and in apathy.
